Seamoretech is a startup company launched in 2021 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Our mission is to empower desalination plants and chemical industries saving resources for a sustainable Sea and Energy Economy.
We are a technology provider aiming at solving fundamental problems identified at desalination plants, while creating a new economy based on sustainable manufacturing. Currently, seawater desalination via reverse osmosis produces 140 million cubic meters of toxic brine as a side-product, which is commonly disposed back into the ocean. Our vision is to provide an ideal ecosystem where brine is completely valorized as raw material to produce utterly necessary minerals considering both supply chain risk and economic importance indicators.
